BVOR Watches is an independent British microbrand with one of the most unique and plucky origin stories in modern watchmaking. Conceived in Hertfordshire in 2019 and officially launched out of London, the brand was founded by an engineering teacher, Nurul Alom, alongside two of his students, Henry Johnston and Oliver Smith. Named in honour of “Beevor”—the boarding house at Aldenham School where the students stayed, and their first housemaster—the brand’s core philosophy is deeply tied to the house motto, Qui Fortiter Persequitur (“who strongly pursues”). Rather than relying on boilerplate luxury lifestyle branding, BVOR positions itself as an engineered, multi-generational passion project that challenges the high cost of contemporary watch design.
BVOR’s visual signature is defined by bold geometric presence, architectural precision, and a highly versatile “office-to-bar” design ethos. The brand separates itself from traditional round cases by utilising a strong, structural 42mm cushion-shaped silhouette featuring a broad, prominently flat bezel punctuated by visible engineering screws at the corners. Their dials emphasise modern texturing, incorporating deep horizontal stamped wave patterns that catch the light and provide visual contrast. Built for daily wearability and high endurance, the brand pairs these sharp, industrial case aesthetics with quick-release leather straps and high-visibility applications of Swiss Super-LumiNova.
