Beaucroft Watches (also known as The Cambridge Watch Company) is an independent British watch brand founded in 2020 by Matt and Karim in Cambridge, England. The brand brings together classic timekeeping traditions and modern British watch design, creating accessible, mechanical timepieces that blend historical architectural inspiration with vibrant contemporary styling. Hand-assembled and regulated in Great Britain, Beaucroft timepieces are designed as memorable daily companions for a new generation of mechanical watch enthusiasts.
Beaucroft’s design language is defined by elegant case geometry, sculpted side-profiles, and rich, light-catching dial colors (such as Temper Red, Forest Green, Sunset Orange, and Tropical Teal). Architectural details from Cambridge inspire their aesthetic—most notably the brand’s signature teardrop emblem, which nods to the decorative surround of the clock at King’s College. Cases feature sculpted “arcs” that visually thin the watch profile on the wrist, complemented by fine finishing, custom rotors, and comfortable steel bracelets or straps.

In a World of colourful dials and highly engineered complications, sometimes something simple and well-executed can win out and be just as impressive. That’s why my pick is the Beaucroft Element Obsidian Black: a well-made, high-spec watch with a simple but impressive black dial.
