Aerotec is a highly innovative, material-focused independent microbrand founded in 2016 by watch collector and designer Terence See in Malaysia. Positioned as one of the few prominent microbrands emerging from the Southeast Asian region outside of Singapore. Aerotec watches are inspired by mechanical technology, rugged military-spec utility, and structural material experimentation—a philosophy embedded in their very name, which fuses “Aerodynamic” with “Technology.”
Aerotecs visual signature is entirely original, defined by bold geometric forms, aggressive tool-watch case architecture, and highly texturised, light-catching dials. The brand is widely celebrated for its adventurous play with case materials, stepping away from standard steel to master marine-grade CuSn8 bronze (which forms a deeply personalised patina over time) and ultra-lightweight titanium. Their design language relies heavily on massive visual depth, utilising three-dimensional oceanic wave patterns, deeply stamped 3D relief dials, and exotic slices of real iron meteorite. They place an immense focus on hidden details—such as their signature exhibition casebacks featuring dual sapphire “porthole” windows reminiscent of a vintage diver’s helmet
TWJ Favourite Watch
I have an Atlantic Star in my collection, which is a nice watch, but the new upcoming Spectra V2 looks stunning. Although so does the Spectra V1 with its snake-like skeleton dial.
