Venezianico is a highly stylised, design-driven independent brand founded in late 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli while studying at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Italy. Originally launching under the moniker Meccaniche Veneziane, the brand completely bypasses mass-market corporate design templates. Instead, Venezianico operates as a pure, tightly curated love letter to Renaissance architecture, Venetian heritage, and the artistic history of the Serenissima lagoon city—a bond so deep that their official brand logo is pulled directly from the ancient golden cross atop the St. Mark’s Clock Tower.
Venezianico’s visual signature is entirely original, defined by striking neoclassical symmetry, exceptional case finishing, and a brilliant use of exotic, light-catching materials. Drawing direct aesthetic cues from Venice’s historic monuments, marble columns, and maritime trade routes, Venezianico utilizes complex multi-layered dials sliced from genuine gemstones like malachite and lapis lazuli, deep shimmering aventurine glass, and genuine mother-of-pearl. Their architectural watches are highly recognizable by their fluid “Canova” integrated bracelets and meticulously brushed 316L stainless steel, titanium, or marine-bronze casework, always protected by double-domed anti-reflective sapphire crystals.
TWJ Favourite Watch
The Nereide GMT 39 in (surprise, surprise) Purple! This is a watch I’ve already started saving for and probably one I’d class as an affordable grail watch. It just looks stunning: purple dial, two-tone crystal bezel, 39mm. There is nothing I don’t like about this watch.
